Our History
Founded in 1987 in Tasmania by Alan and Helene Weeding, Weeding Hire began as a small venture supplying party goods and pole marquees for events—back when ‘party’ encompassed just about every occasion. As clearspan marquees became more widely available through industry leaders like Hoecker, the team forged strong connections within business and community event circles, driven by a commitment to asking the right questions to ensure seamless event execution.
In 2018, Weeding Hire expanded its offerings with the acquisition of Tassie Instant Marquees, further strengthening its presence in the Tasmanian events industry.
Then, in 2022, after 35 successful years, Weeding Hire entered a new chapter as it joined the Matson Hospitality Group , a collaboration of local brands dedicated to exceptional service. Today, Weeding Hire operates alongside Tasmanian Catering Premium Tasmanian Made Jams – Joanna's Jams The Tramsheds Function Centre | Conferences | Weddings | Events continuing its legacy of excellence in event hire and planning.
